WHAT IS QUARTZITE?

Quartz is a metamorphic stone that’s composed of quartz. Sandstone or chert that has high quartz content becomes quartzite. This happens whenever sand or chert is subjected to extreme heat and pressure under the earth’s surface. The result is a stone that has the composition of quartz crystals but denser, heavier, and more resistant against heat, cold, and shocks.

Copper mines and quartz mines also contain quartzite. Leading quartz exporters in the world such as India and China may be also the leading exporters of quartzite.

NOTABLE QUALITIES OF QUARTZITE

  • Available in different color combinations
  • Very easy to seal and polish
  • Very common and supply for it never runs out
  • Quartzite isn’t a result of artificial production
